RYE HOUSE V LIONS, PREVIEW

LEICESTER boss Simon Stead hopes to get their first Premiership points on the board as they kick-off a busy couple of days at Rye House on Wednesday (7.30).

The Watling JCB Lions will face two very different tests in the space of two days, with the trip to the tricky Hoddesdon circuit followed by a showdown with reigning Champions Swindon at the Abbey on Thursday (7.30).

After being left frustrated by the weather which has washed out the opening weeks of the season, Stead says his side are itching to get off to a positive start in their league campaign.

“We just need to get started,” said Stead. “It’s obviously been a very frustrating start to the season for everybody, so fingers crossed we get some racing in over the next few days.

“We’ve got to go to two vastly different tracks in Rye House and Swindon, so it should be a good test for our boys to get the Premiership campaign started and we’ll hopefully get some points on the board.”

Both sides are at full strength, with the Lions handing a debut to temporary signing Michael Palm Toft in the No.2 spot.

The Rockets feature British stars Chris Harris, Scott Nicholls and Edward Kennett as well as former Grand Prix ace Krzysztof Kasprzak.

RYE HOUSE: Chris Harris, Aaron Summers, Krzysztof Kasprzak, Edward Kennett, Scott Nicholls, Stuart Robson, Max Clegg.
LEICESTER: Martin Vaculik, Michael Palm Toft, Danny King, Krystian Pieszczek, Hans Andersen, James Sarjeant, Kyle Newman.
